Community Involvement

Sam’s Spirit has several community involvement initiatives.  In the late summer and fall we host two events, Sam Pes Memorial Golf Tournament and Sprint for Sam 5K.  In addition, Tyler Vail continues his Strikeouts for Sam Initiative, this year playing with the Evensville Otters.  If you have ideas or would like to get involved in our events, please contact us.  In addition to our events, we have the Sam’s Spirit Scholarship at Phillipsburg High School.

Gift of Life Family House

On SeptembeFH logo_with webr 6th, Sam’s parents were faced with a difficult decision with her passing, whether or not to donate her organs.  They met with a representative from the Gift of Life and decide Sam was such a giving person it was what she would have wanted.  With this generous decision, Sam saved three lives.  After this decision, Sam’s parents decided they wanted to continue a relationship with the Gift of Life Family House in Philadelphia.  Just a little over a month after her passing, we hosted our first Sprint for Sam 5K with a portion of our proceeds benefiting the Gift of Life Family House.  Then in January 2014, Sam’s Spirit decided to underwrite the last remaining room at the Gift of Life Family House.  Sam’s Spirit has pledged to contribute $25,000 to room 206 in celebration of Sam.
